Organisational Structure of the BCA-clinic

The BCA-clinic in the Borreliose Centrum Augsburg was founded in July 2006 with the primary aim of a holistic approach to therapy for chronically ill patients suffering from Lyme disease.

The BCA-clinic, acting as the BCA-clinic GmbH & Co. KG, is active in accompanying therapies & ambulant rehabilitation with medical day clinic (Lyme Compact Treatment Program), as well as a specialised laboratory (for tick-borne diseases / infections).

The BCA-clinic cooperates with doctors from all over (Germany/Europe/World-wide) in order to provide services according to the ILADS guidelines and the recommendations of the German Borreliosis Society (these guidelines and standards are sought to be necessary and correct).

The BCA-clinic, residing in Morellstrasse 33, Augsburg, Germany, cooperates with a organisationally and economically independent "Medical Partnership".  This partnership offers patients necessary medical services and invoices them separately and independently on a private medical practice basis.

Information about the organisation and provision of services in the BCA-clinic:
The Medical Partnership for tick-borne diseases is a personally, logistically and economically separate organisation. The Medical Partnership is a tenant of the BCA-clinic. All medicinal services (diagnosis, therapies and medical therapy monitoring) are provided by the attending physicians of the „Medical Partnership“ and will be billed to the patient on a private medical basis (according to the Medical Association’s professional code of conduct in Bavaria). The Medical Partnership has its own website.

All other services (specialised laboratory, supporting accompanying therapies, ambulant rehabilitation program) are provided and invoiced by the BCA-clinic Betriebs GmbH & Co. KG as a separate business entity.  The GmbH & Co. KG is also the operator of this website.

Our staff would be glad to inform you in detail which services will be billed by the „Medical Partnership“, which services will be billed by the BCA GmbH & Co. KG  and the limit of cost for which services might be reimbursed by the respective health insurance.

From our cooperating doctors (medical partnership, as well as other cooperating doctors from Germany, Europe and the World) we expect a broad and competent range of medical services in terms of the holistic therapy appproach to tick-borne diseases and possible co-infections (accroding to the ILADS guidelines and the recommendations of the German Borreliosis Society).  This broad range of services should include the following:

  • Diagnosis with extensive anamnesis and physical examination (incl. checking for co-infections and differential diagnosis)
  • Determination of necessary laboratory services and analysis of the laboratory findings in the range of the diagnosis
  • Infusions
  • Development of individual therapy plans according to the ILADS guidelines and the recommendations of the German Borreliosis Society (incl. necessary "accompanying therapies", change of diet, selected dietary supplements, etc.)
  • Prescription of medication and therapies
  • Various appointments with doctor consultations and other necessary examinations (to monitor therapy improvements)
  • Referral letter and disease reports

Settlement of the accounts with the health insurance:

  • Laboratory services will be directly invoiced to the patient on a private medical practice basis.
  • On demand patients are provided with an estimate for treatment costs. Thus the patient can find out beforehand from his compulsory or private health insurance company which costs would presumably be covered.
  • Under point 4 in the "undefinedFAQs" you can find 3 papers justifying the diagnosis and therapy measures of the BCA-clinic on a scientific basis.
  • The „Accompanying therapies“ and dietary supplements described on the website of the BCA-clinic GmbH & Co. KG will only be reimbursed (in total or in part) if prescribed by a physician.
  • Additionally:  Medical services will only be rendered and invoiced by the Medical Partnership on a private basishttp://www.aerzte-bca.de/.
